Vander Plaetsen was founded in 2003 by Koen Van der Plaetsen, with an initial focus on steel construction. Over the years the company has grown into a trusted player in the sector, expanding into industrial construction, piping and new builds. In 2017 the Electrics division was added.
In 2019, Constructie Industrie — active since the 1960s in Assenede — joined the group. The merger was formally completed in 2023, with all activities centralised at that site. Since 2024 we operate as Vander Plaetsen Group, structured around four divisions: Construct, Engineering, Electrics and Lifting. Targeted investments in infrastructure and machinery ensure we continue to build for the future.
