As Assistant Foreman you work together with the team on our sites at ArcelorMittal in the Port of Ghent.
At the start of each day, you support the foreman with planning and preparation: arranging work permits, dividing tasks and ensuring that safety rules are followed.
You also take an active role on the work floor. Typical tasks include:
In addition, you make sure the work areas are well supplied and that hygiene, safety and quality procedures are respected.
With this combination of hands-on work and coordination, you become a key link in the daily operation and in the success of the projects.
We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience in the metal or construction sector, including one year in a coordinating or supervisory role. Someone who reads plans with ease and feels confident with electrode welding. Working at heights should not be an issue.
A person who thinks positively, spots solutions rather than problems, and enjoys planning and organising work.
For follow-up and reporting, working with a computer feels natural.
